Sonora Strings

Sonora Strings is a violin choir of students ages ten to sixteen
which provides Suzuki Strings of Madison's advanced students with
adventurous performing opportunities and experiences performing in
modern, romantic and popular musical styles. Since 2001 Sonora has
performed at the Unitarian Meeting House, the Madison Club, in the
capitol rotunda for events sponsored by the Attorney General's
office, Monona Terrace Convention Center, with the Bach Dancing and
Dynamite Society, at the Stoughton Opera House and at the Milwaukee
Art Museum. Please consider hiring Sonora Strings for you business

SSM students are eligible to join Sonora Strings when they have
begun the Vivaldi g minor Concerto in Book 5. They must be able to
perform the Bach Double from memory accurately, and have a beginning
vibrato. Other requirements are:
l. Private teacher recommendation
2. Well-established sight reading ability
3. Regular attendance on Tuesday night class.
4. Strong work ethic and regular review of Suzuki repertoire.
Sonora rehearsals will take place on Tuesday nights
from 5:30-6:45 and will be team-taught by Maria-Rosa, Diana, Heidi
and Janse. Additional rehearsals may be added as needed.
Fee for 2006-2007 will be $160 per student, for the school year (or
$80 per semester), plus the $35 per family activity fee. Please play
the full fee even if Sonora is the only group class you participate
in.
